I headed down to Potholes with low expectations but hoped to find a couple big rainbows and some walleyes. Started trolling #9 Flickershads in 20 FOW east of Goose Island with no takers. Switched to shallow running Flickershads between Goose Island and the dam and picked up some small smallies but was rewarded with a nice 21 inch eye in 3 FOW.

Headed to the west shoreline where we had found RBT last month. Went back to #9 FS in 20+ FOW with no hits. The water where Frenchman dumped in was loaded with debris so I moved to the face of the dunes. Used #7 Flickershads and concentrated n 10-14 FOW and picked up 6 Largemouths and 4 catfish over the next 2 hours. Had a couple nice 1-2 lb bass but really enjoyed the 22 inch 5.2 lb LMB.

Water temp 73-74, speed 1.8-2.6 MPH, colors green/silver, brown/black. Never found the RBT but it was a fun morning on the water.

How was the water level? What launch did you use? Going to be over there in a few weeks for the youth hunt and curious how it looks.
