Great Day on the water.. went up to Anacortes near the Fish pen that let all the Atlantic salmon get out.. lots of boats... and gill netters... anyhoo.. We got on the water at 6am.. headed out across the sound to the "spot".. I have to say.. the fish were tail walking, jumping and splashing ... it was crazy! literally jumping into the side of the boat "Thunk"... insanity... not as for the catching... not so exciting.. we were throwing it all at them.. 1/2 - 3/4oz darts, lures of every shape and color... but it was the time prove corky and a powerbait nugget that finally got us some fish!! We hooked 8 and landed 4. All were in the 8-10lbs range. Overall lots of fun and sun!!!

Small hook on a 2ft leader.. 3 powerbait nuggets... 1/2oz weight. on the bottom..about 8-15ft of water.

Today a different story. No fish jumping. No fish seen except in the many gill nets all around us. At anchor gill netters would encircle the boat resulting in nets fouled in props and anchor lines. Fishing sucked. Dont go there. Also at times I could grab a handful of fish food pellets floating on top of the water. Think those fish want buzz bombs or their accustomed food? Only the gill netters caught fish today.

I know.. its a shame too. The GN's will roll right up in between boats within 3 feet sometimes and start unrolling the nets... it is a shame.
