Rented a cabin at Fishermen's Cove on Curlew and fished Wednesday through Friday. Hot and sunny weather, but not too bad of a crowd on the lake each day. Caught three tiger Musky during my outings over the days.
The first came off a Savage Gear bluegill that I was testing. I say testing because I had never fished it before and had only been fishing for a minute. I was just seeing how it worked as a topwater and a 46" toad inhaled it. After a heck of a fight, and fast measurement, I was able to reach down with needle nose pliers and pop the bent hook out easily. What a way to start a curlew trip!
The lure was toast; may he Rest In Peace. I managed to bonk two other small tigers as well. These came off 6" squirrely tail Jake in perch and a J-mac jig with a big paddle tail. Both these fish were in the lower 30" range.
All fish were caught in the evening. I saw several other tigers and had a follow or two. The folks at Fishermen's Cove were great as usual and I met some really nice folks who I took trout fishing in the mornings. Good people all around if you are willing to introduce yourself.

Thanks for a very nice report. I have never heard of the tackle you used so need to do some research. I really want to get up there before the summer ends.

You can't go wrong with Jake's or Grandma's crankbaits. Fall is the season, for sure.

Cowgirls are an interesting bait. Some folks here say the tigers won't go after the big lures and I find that just laughable. A musky is a musky. I have caught many on Bass sized lures, and I have caught many on musky sized lures. Sure, throwing a big lure is more work, but big fish eat them. It pays off in the long run when you are over catching the smaller tigers and are looking for big fish memories.
I am curious if there was a color pattern that was notable when you fished?
