Fished Scooteney with the Jigmeister and FishinChristian. Targeted walleye, smallmouth, yellow perch, and other spiny rays in general.

Before I start, I encourage anyone fishing this body of water to watch out for thieves. I had a very nasty experience here with somebody who stole my cooler (containing my fishing license). BE CAREFUL OF THIEVES AT SCOOTENEY!!

Started out with losing a red cooler off of FishinChristian's pontoon boat, prior to launch. By the time we figured out what happened (no more than 20 minutes following launch), somebody had immediately stolen my cooler (which included my fishing license) from the parking lot (where it had apparently fallen off). We went back to the launch, and asked around (including the park maintenance guy), but nobody had seen it. Today it showed up outside my apartment (and the only way the person returning it could have known the address to which to return it, was to have seen it on the license that was subsequently stolen), sans license, and full of garbage (e.g. empty Capri-Sun drink containers, half-empty grocery store containers of peaches). Other than the possibility that somebody honest returned the cooler to my apartment with license - but then the license was subsequently stolen (dubious in the extreme), then the only conclusion is that somebody stole it immediately, then didn't have the integrity to return it with contents intact - in particular, they returned a cooler worth probably $5, and stole my fishing license. Needless to say, I'm enraged (I *never* would have done that to anyone).

BTW, if you are the scum who did this and happens to be reading this - I'm reporting the license as stolen to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, and encouraging them to check ID if they find somebody with the license. Hope you are happy with your personal sense of honesty, and that if you are fishing with my stolen license, that you get pounded by the authorities...

Getting on to the fishing report. We had a mediocre day. No walleye (despite extensive efforts), no perch. The only reason it didn't rate a 1-star or 2-star (ignoring the contribution of thieves to my rating) is that we got into a few good sized bluegill and a few moderate size smallmouth bass (this lake is crazy full of small smallmouths). Nothing fabulous, but enough to get a meal or two. This is the first time (ever) that I've not been able to find walleye or perch in this lake. Weird year. Pretty disappointing..

Just in case y'all's don't get it - I'm completely enraged at the thieves present at this lake. **Watch your belongings!!**

We, of course, meaning *they*, since I was license-less. :(
