I fished today for a couple hours at a river i like and did really well. I hooked well over a hundred pinks and brought 80 or so to hand. Most fish were caught on my 6wt fiberglass fly rod, full floating line, 10' of maxima UG mono for tippet and a pink rabbit fur clouser over 5-6 feet of water. I swung/stripped it in. I also landed a dozen pinks on twitching jigs, but there were too many fish around and i ended up foul hooking a couple fish by accident, so i stuck with the fly rod because i wasn't snagging any fish that way. I ended up going home after only 4 hours on the river because my arms were sore and i was starting to get lazy with fighting them all in.
I only saw 1 family and a (well known) guide with clients at the spot i fished (300 yard run). Its not a well known spot or easy to get to. I sure as hell won't say where.

I still say you've learned, ha ha. But isn't your secret spot in Canada and not in NW Washington??

Ive learned to keep MY spots secret. Rivers in particular. Your publicly tax funded stocked lake is no secret and i sure as hell didn't learn anything from you, trying to bogart stocked trout. Give your head a shake dude.

100 fish/4 hours = 25 fish/hour = 1 fish/2.4 minutes
80 fish - that's 1 fish every 3 minutes to hook, fight, land and release.
I assume at some point you must have taken a bathroom break or something, maybe stretched for a minute or two, or retied your gear, so really your pace would realistically be somewhere in the range of one fish every 2 minutes.
This must be the greatest spot in the history of fishing, and to maintain that insane pace you must be the Lance Armstrong of fishing. I am envious.

I counted 20 casts in a row of hooking fish. On average every other cast got a hook up. Multiple takes on a dingke retrieve if i hadnt hooked uo already, and i singke hand spey cadted to maximize time spent in the water. No i didnt stop to pee. I overssized my tippet to reduce how over fought each fish was and retrieved each fish in a minute or less. I am being acurate. The i recorded my numbers was by taking a pic every 10th fish i landed. 8 pics=over 80 fish to hand. Believe it or not this happened. Also note BC has WAY healthier runs of fish than washington.

fishkin4, kenhsiung, buc: Stop antagonizing/disrespecting other users on the site. It's childish, and it will get you removed.

jonb, carry on.

I always thought after releasing your "limit" you were through. At least according to the WDFW rule book.

I live in BC. wdfw rules don't apply in BC and this is perfectly legal here
