Finally getting a knack for the kayak and decided to head back to Langlois for a morning paddle. I decided to try a deep six diving sinker to get my lure a bit deeper and once I realized I tied it backwards it actually worked. From what I could tell I was likely down about 30 feet or so and I used a green Macks wedding ring with a salmon egg on the end.
On my first pass through I got a bite and somehow in all my frantic excitement actually seemed to land the fish. Not a monster but 11" so it's still a meal. I threw a powerbait worm on the lure next to try it oit and when i started to paddle again I felt a couple bites but nothing solid.
After two more laps around the lake I figured I would reel in and try my hand at another set up only to find all my gear in a lovely mess. I think I let them out too fast and they ended up tangled as a result.
Never the less I was still very satisfied. As I paddled back to the boat ramp I saw a few smaller bass swimming around so I may change up my tactics and try for them next time.
