Fished Friday through Sunday mornings by myself, 2 rods, electric Down riggers.

Friday: One fish at 7am, lost one at 9am
Saturday: Caught 3, lost 3
Sunday: Limited by 7:45am (4 fish)

It took a while to figure it out, I fished the previous weekend with a buddy (3 mornings) and took home 1 fish, he took home 3. What finally worked: 12 inch leader, 2 red hooks tied close together. Pink Fire brined store bought Prawns mixed with Shrimp gel attractant in a jar to fester. A chunk of the messy shrimp on upper hook. Before going in water doused the shrimp and both hooks with more Shrimp flavored attractant. Large Gold and silver flasher on both rods. I pulled up gear and put on fresh bait/goop at lest once per hour - got 2 hits within 1 minute after doing this. By Sunday I was regooping even more often. All fish caught at a depth at 45 feet.

I fished exclusively at the Swift creek end of the lake near the shelf (where it goes from 150 to 55 feet in about a hundred yards. Near the Pole on the far bank.

The morning that I limited I caught the 1st at 5:45, second at 7:15 and then a double at 7:30 to end the day by 7:45.

It was the first time I had a double fishing by myself. I was working the 1st fish when the second rod went off, nothing I could do but hope it stayed on. For the first time at Baker, I had a fish go under the boat and wrap around the live line of the other pole and though sure I would lose both. Miraculously, he unwound himself and I got him in the boat. Thankfully he did not get stuck in the net and I grabbed the other pole and yanked it off the Down rigger - it was not moving, but fish on, promptly boated and limited.

What I learned: If it ain't working, try something different: I started with what worked last couple of years: pink hoochie, 2 red hooks, chunk of shrimp, got skunked 1st day with 4 rods (last weekend), next day we tried something different on all 4 rods. When the 2 red hooks started working, I added the slathering of Shrimp goop for the magic formula.

The other thing that I was doing by Sunday was popping the green button on my Scottys when I went over fish to give a little action to the gear.
