3 miles up, 3 miles down, two rainbows and a great day with my kid. Couldn't ask for more, especially for trout fishing in late July. Lost lake is one of my favorite spots to hit up. Very little pressure and it's one of the lakes that I fished in my teens and it brings back many memories bringing my boys there now. Arrived at the lake about a quarter to five and set up. My 9 year old was using power bait on a slip sinker with about 5 feet of leader and I set about casting some panther Martin rooster tails. I had the first fish, a mighty 6" bow which we sent back and then my son caught a really nice 15" bow off the bottom. We ate our MRE's (being a USMC vet I have had my fill of them but the kids think they're magical!) and enjoyed the scenery and headed home before sunset. I would have rated this a "5" In my book, had a great time.

I started backpacking with MREs and now I can't go back. They pack a big meal and make it so easy to have a good hot food. And nice fish caught by your boy! Panther martins are my spinner of choice.
