Headed out early to Lake Stevens to see if I could bring some kokanee home for the wife and I. Began fishing at 5:15 am. Started out with Reli lures Elgin Fishing God's Tooth trolling rigs with 50/50 gold and I did some experimenting with making additional 50/50 patterns in moon jelly green, pink, and orange. Also made patterns of 50/50 pink/orange and a yellow/green/chrome reflective stripe/black. The 50/50 blue caught a fish also. Second rod had the 50/50 green moon jelly which Mike Bredstrand came up with and I wish to thank him for posting a photo of it online. All the patterns hooked into at least one fish which was great since I was experimenting. Not much action the first hour then the bite started about 6:15 am and continued for maybe an hour or so. After that, I would pick up a fish here and there but it was rather slow overall. Fish were caught at 40' to 55' and I was using 20' set backs initially then increased to 50' about 8 am. Started with 13" leaders then increased to 16" about 8 am also. Did catch one fish with a 29" leader as I was just experimenting. God blessed with 8 fish and the largest ones were 13.5" and lost 2. Had a few bites too.

The video below shows some of the action for the day and wishing all tight lines!

Great report. I really like the look of that pink/orange combo. That definitely looks fishy!

How fast do you troll that setup?

You can troll it slow or fast, I'm guessing I run at 1 to 1.5mph.

I use both Tiemco size 6 #105 and Gamakatsu size 4 drop shot hooks. I use 8lb rigger balls.
