To start my vacation I wanted to fish a lake I had never fished before. I have been eyeballing Silver for a couple years hoping it would be a lake similar to McMurray only farther north. It may be but it ended up being a one lap wonder for me today.
I launched in a light drizzle and it felt great! I started to the right of the public launch and caught an absolute dink on a Rapala. About 100 yards later I caught about a 3/4 pounder on a Senko. The water here is very clear and lots of wood cover. Water temps were right at 70 degrees except for the south end which was 72 degrees.
I caught one about 1.5 pounds near a dock and it was a perfect Senko bite....make cast, watch line, line jumps, reel down and set the hook!
I didn't get any pictures as the fish were small, probably should have just to record my first and possibly last Silver Lake largemouth. I bailed out around 10am. I was heading for Fazon but there were 700 cars in the lot when I got there so I changed plane and headed for Wiser.
