Fished Loon this morning with my 5 year old son. It was hard to get going with the wind blowing us off the troll constantly. I was trying to get the downrigger rods set up while my son stayed on course. We finally got set up and started trolling around the southeast area of the lake. Had a fish within 5 minutes of getting both rods set. First fish came at 10' on the downrigger on a pink mini Kekeda. We drifted off course while netting and unhooking the fish. So we start back on the troll and not more than two minutes later the rod starts dancing again. Little 10" Kokanee in the net again. I knew this was going to be a short trip but all of a sudden my son says, "can we be done now and go swimming." Wanting to keep him hooked on fishing I agree to two more fish and then we can head off to swim. Well those two fish came in about 10 more minutes. We finished our 25 minute fishing trip with 4 Kokanee, nothing over 11" but really fun. Dropped them off for my mom on the way home. All fish came on the pink mini Kekeda tipped with power maggots 12" behind a chrome dodger. No beads or blades today. The other rig didn't get touched with a blade. All fish also at 10 feet on the downrigger in about 60 to 70 feet of water. Speed was 1.6 mph.
