Had a chance to fish with the guys and gal from Gerber Collision. We had a great day with 8 keepers one over sized and 5 fish that broke off. We had a total of 19 fish to the boat today. The fishing out of Kettle is getting to be hit or miss with the water being very very high at this time. It seems like the bite is on one day then off for the next few days. The season is set to end a hour after sun set on July 31st 2017 so don't get caught fishing them after that date....We fished hearing, smelt, squid and salmon...We fished in 70 plus feet of water.

The regulations that I looked up show that the season ends on Sept. 17th?

I'll be headed out Saturday morning to try and catch my 1st Sturgeon. Super excited and hoping it's a day that the bite is on.

Its a emergency closure since the quota has been reached.. I had a wdfw officer contact me yesterday to let me know the closure was coming.

Nice catch again Craig... and as of this afternoon the closure is on the WDFW site for 1 hour after sunset on July 31st! They estimate 3,500 fish retained of the estimated 10,000 fish over 10 years allotment. And BTW... shouldn't you be chasing Summer Kings near Brewster! :)

It's funny that a newspaper holds the more current information versus their actual website. Lol. I hope they update their website with these details soon because I can see a lot of people in jeopardy of accidentally breaking the law. Thank you for the update!

Sign up at WDFW website for email alerts of rule changes and you won't have to rely on other sources. I got the email from WDFW @ 3:13 July 20th announcing closure effective one hour after official sunset July 31st. ;-)
