Little slower than last few months. Fished from 830am to 1200pm with five in the boat all decent sized. Same dodger and green/red wedding ring with worm. Tons of fish marked at 15 ft, but didn't get a bite until down rigger was set at 35 in about 50 ft of water. Fish may be starting to go deeper with the hot weather. Faster troll of 2-2.5 mph.

I was out there also, but didn't see you. I was fishing for bass, but decided to try for a few cutts. Fished from about 9:30 to 10:30. Only one 12" and on the DR at 30 feet. I was marking fish from 25 to 50 feet. I like to troll faster also. Used slingblade with a spoon. Simple and effective and no perch. I think I may have seen you at the launch. Black Lowe with downriggers on it? And yes, fish should be deeper now.

May have been me, I am in a black and red Lund Crossover with downriggers. Good thought on the spoon, sometimes difficult to determine how long I have dragged a perch around on the downrigger.

I think I saw you on the North end late morning maybe? Try Googling Cal Kellogg. He has some good tips on trolling for trout with spoons. Remember when you troll faster, the dodgers just rotate and the wedding rings don't have as much action. Talking to Mack's Lures directly, they recommend the slower speeds for the wedding rings. Faster speeds are good for the Sling blade and the spoons provide the action. I've tried several different colors with success. Match the gear with the speed. I know what you mean about dragging perch - very annoying.
