Went crabbing out front of Discovery Park on opening day. Set 4 pots in 60-80' of water and let them soak for 2.5 hours. Drank a beer one the beach and headed back out to find a bunch of females, and small rock crab. At least half a dozen in each pot, but not a lot of keepers! Only got 1 Dungee and 4 keeper rocks that day. We decided to reset a couple and leave them over night.

When I came back Sunday evening, there were less crab in each pot, but definitely more keepers! Got 4 Dungees and 4 Rocks out of those two pots and then happily skiffed back home.

Used herring and chicken thighs for bait.

seems like a real slow time in area 10. golden gardens did not produce 1hr limits like they did last year! opening day my friend and i got 6 dungies and 6 red rocks, apparently lots of people got skunked and didn't get anything.

Good to hear you got some! Can't decide if I have just been spoiled the last couple years or if this is something I should be concerned about... I hear they are doing great over at Port Madison. Full pots for everyone I was told by a couple in the locks. Just gotta do some experimenting...
