We were hoping for a repeat of last week. There were more people on the lake this time and the parking lot was almost full at 7:30am.
The clouds were heavy this morning and the water temp was 68. I wore my jacket almost the whole time I was there.
Ever heard of the saying “I am all thumbs”? That was me. Both hooks would penetrate my hands, fingers and when I got them unhooked they would hook my clothes. I wish they would do that for the fish. I also forgot to turn on one of my Water Wolves.
The places we caught fish 6 days ago hardly had any fish. But on the way over to the marina I hooked one off my bottom rod, I think set at 30 feet. It pulled hard turning out to be a 14 inch cutthroat. First in the boat. It was a while before we got any more. I got a kokanee and Kim got a cutthroat. We left about 12:30.
Mine were caught on Dick Nite dodger’s orange /copper tractor tread and pink splatter with Wannafish A Lure orange and gold as well as pink splatter with a hammered gold blade. Kim’s on a Wannafish A Lure orange thing and she says it is a colorful dodger.
The fish finder got stuck for a time at 20 feet. Powering it off didn’t fix it. Then it finally starting working. Going from 20 to 30 then up and up. Or should I say down. You can see it in the video at one point it was at 20 feet. That’s the time it got stuck.
I kept finding stuff that would get on the clips. It almost looked like jelly fish clumps.
There was BUGS on the fins of the trout.
