It seems like all my reports are the same lately!!!! Well, I guess they are! The walleye bite is phenomenal and we are averaging 30-50 fish a day! I am fishing below McNary Dam in the John Day Pool. Wednesday the bite started slow, but the 20 mph winds did not help. After I moved several times, I found a pile of fish and my clients were very efficient with the bites. We ended up getting 10 a piece for 50 fish in the bag!
Our action came on bottom walkers and worm harnesses in 25-35 foot of water. The flows are slowing, but are still such that the fish are sitting on edges. Find a soft edge, and you will find walleye!
This fishery will go strong all summer and I have several open dates in July! Give me a call and tell me you saw this report on NWFR and I will give you a special rate for booking in July!
