I know this report is a bit late, but I've been super busy at work. But, I'm hear to represent Yakima County again. Anyways, Wednesday, June 21, I left work at 5:30 pm, and arrived at Dog Lake around 6:30 pm. I saw where they had recently planted the lake with 7000 fish, so I knew I'd be getting some bites. I tried using spinners; However, without a boat, I couldn't cast out near as far as I needed.
I switched to power eggs, and limited in 30 minutes. After which, I just enjoyed the tranquility of a gorgeous mountain lake. Plenty of weight, about two feet of leader (and honestly, any color of power eggs) did the trick.
Anyone wanting to introduce their children to fishing, would be well advised to visit Dog Lake right now... As there are so many fish swimming around right now, it would be difficult to NOT catch a limit.
As always, I was fishing from the bank at the big turnout, right past the bridge; Although, I don't think location at this point matters too much.
