The road from Carson is open...just a little snow with muddy ruts but quite passable.
probably a quarter mile of potholes...quite bad where the snow is at the top of the pass, about 3 miles before your reach the lake.
Then pot holes along the road right next to the lake otherwise, the road is about like always in the summer. Some narrow spots around fallen trees on the paved part of the road. We came into the lake from Trout Lake...The 4 miles of gravel was terrible with deep pot holes the whole 4 miles. We left the lake headed toward Carson and the road is much much better this way.
The water level is right at the top of the boat ramp... see picture.
Sometimes have to move away logs that float in. ( Bring your hip boots.)
We fly fished. Caught lots of fish, maybe 60 between the two of us! Mostly on sink tip or slow sink line.
Hot flies were halfback nymph, damsel nymph...light tan in color. black leech, small, dry fly... brown caddis, bucktail
fished "damp" small humpy. Weather was a great sunny with slight breeze.
