So I have been absent from the web site for a while as I was out of town most of May ( 12 days of fishing and a business trip) and came back to computer issues; so finally got things ironed out now so will try and get caught up without flooding the reports too much! I will start with the most recent ones and over the next few days try and back track!

Unfortunately my wife and I have to be in Chelan next Saturday for a memorial so cannot make the Lake WA trout derby so saw an opportunity to fish Saturday June 3rd and really wrestled as to where to fish! I knew I had a good portion of the day free so wanted to make it worth while and wanted to fish somewhere a little further away from my home lake Lake WA. So it was a toss up between American lake, Lake Sammamish, Salt water area 11- After contacting Paul Lewis (WAfishman20) made up my mind to revisit Lake Sammamish and glad I did!

Arrived at the launch at 5:45 am with one rig ahead of me waiting for the gate to open. Was not aware that it opens late but now I know! Anyway, had some great conversations with a the gentleman in front of me and few other folks while getting the boat ready to take in- finally the park ranger arrived around 6:20 to open the gate.

Got the boat in the water by 6:45 and decided to troll out from the launch up along the north side house I guess it would be. Started with lead core line 4 colors out and 110 on the line counter with a cold water Okuma line counter reel attached to the new Eagle Claw feather light kokanee 8' rod with a Kokabow orange sling blade and spinner on the business end. Put a piece of night crawler on it of course and started trolling- marked a ton of fish from 15- 25 feet down but no takers. There was quite a bit of breeze and chop on the water which I hadn't expected but was managable. Soon changed it out to a brads mini cut plug in Hollywood and had one drive by so decided to move to the down rigger so I could get to where I was seeing the fish.

Around 8 am got a text from Paul that he got a late start due to the wind but was on his way with his mom which was cool! Soon he motored by to say hi and then saw him get set fish- Wouldn't you know it, not 2 minutes I see a net fly from his boat! Man this kid is amazing! Before long he had 3 in the boat with one he put back and I was still on the skunk! I decided to change things up again and went to a pink radical glow spinner tipped with pink gulp maggots and a pink/ holograph fast limit dodger so set it at 21' to see what would happen.

Shortly my rod started to dance and it was fish on!! Finally had one on and it was taking some line after I popped it off the clip but soon netted a nice 16"+ fatty! Whew the skunk was off the boat so now I finally figured out what they wanted- it didn't take long to get 3 more in along with a perch! I was passing Paul and his mom as they were heading in because he had chores to do ( yes amazing this guy is only 17 years old!!) Just as they were passing he gets a real nice one on that didn't want to get in the net! Soon he bested it and was his biggest of the day pushing over 18:"!

Finally called it a day around 1 pm and was pleased overall with the day as the weather and company on lake was fantastic! Saw some other fellow fishers out there and everyone was very pleasant! I'll be back!! See you on the water!!

Enjoy them, they'll be bonked out of existence. This site is bringing pressure to lake wa and damn. Otherwise they were both low pressure. Now it's a wild fish blood fest
