Hit Eloika early by myself, ran out of my best plastic and the bite was meh, so I went home. Took a nap and my daughter wanted to go " catch a lot of little fish" do I buzzed over to Newman. Set her up with a small chartreuse jig, bobber with about 6' of leader. Tipped with pink maggot or two and she caught a ton of small bass. I pitched frogs the whole time and had nothing big hit. The spawn is on at Newman for bass, good luck finding the beds.
So I got bored casting and decided to try my daughter's setup while she slept/sun bathed. Immediately caught a couple slab crappie. Rigged up another pole with the same setup and had many doubles for the next couple hours. The slabs stopped biting and it was getting dark and we headed home. Took the biggest 7 home and released the rest. 10 lbs of crappie in those 7 fish.
