After a long Spring Salmon season, I was eager to get my clients out for some of the hot walleye action that is taking place on the Columbia! With the temperature climbing on Monday, I took my group out early with plans to be off the water before the heat. We launched in Plymouth, Washington and made our way downstream. With the river at the current flow it is at, we were looking for specific areas with current breaks. The walleye are sitting off main river points right now, anywhere they can get out of the current! We stopped at a local favorite spot, and no sooner than dropping our gear, we were into fish, after fish, after fish, after fish! After about two hours of hot action, we had landed over 30 fish, lost several more, and released a couple smalls! We ended up keeping 20 for eating and decided that was a good morning! Looking ahead, I have some open days for this hot walleye action!
