We were at the State park camp grounds and lets start off with a big THANK YOU to all the rangers and park personnel that made this weekend one to remember. Always friendly and Jonny on the spot with answers and a helping suggestion. I could show you 100 pictures of fish over the weekend but really just needed the one. Other than a few 14 inches, I assume a carry over from last year, they were all cookie cutter stocked trout 12 inches or so. BUT they thought they were marlins. Almost every one flew out of the water time after time, they hit like they were 2 lbs and tugged for all they were worth. You cant get tired of that kind of fun.
On a silly note. I gave away 4 flashers and Black Wooly bugger flies to people over the weekend who were complaining they were not catching fish. And to a one, they went back to what they were using after just a few minutes. I was using two poles with the bail left open and the clicker on, so when one hit the best sound in the world screamed out. Was catching them two at a time all three days! But yet the 4 people who asked me what I was using and how I was doing it, wouldnt change from what they were using. LOL. All weekend it was the same set up. Arrow half/flasher with 36' of leader to a black-ish Wooley bugger. Trolling at a sedate 1.3mph. No weight and at 80" ish back.
