I got to the lake about 5:30am to fish and test my motor out. After launching the big motor started very quick. Let it idle a little then went out to see if it would go fast again. It did!

I started fishing close to 6am northeast of the island. I saw clusters on the fish finder but no bites until around 7:30. Every time I went into the cluster I would get a bite. But they did not stick. I got my first trout as I was going down after stacking my rods. I thought that if I stacked I would have a better chance at seeing the bite if both rod were within my line of vision. It worked. I have learned quite a bit watching the film I capture while fishing.

I only caught 2 stocker trout I brought home for my neighbors. The water was 62 and the air temp got into the 70’s with the prediction to be in the mid 80’s. There was only a slight breeze on the water. I left about 9am.

I put the down riggers to 40 feet at the deepest and my top line at the shallowest 10 feet. The bites were best at 15 and 25 feet. I used other dodgers and lures that got some action I didn’t see above water. But the ones I used to catch were Dick Nite 50/50 dodger with Wannafish A Lure Gilded Lily. When I got 2 bites on one I switched them both out so they were the same. My corn and an old hard Berkley pink maggot had shrimp krill oil on it.
