I loaded up the boat and headed to Spokane on Sunday, I was going to fish Silver Lake but there was a tournament taking place. I hit Newman for several hours in the late morning. Lots and lots of people crammed into the tiny launch as usual. That makes this lake a bit more of a pain since nobody seems to have any launch edict. Anyway, I hit several spots that always seem to hold fish and they did today as well. Water temps were 62-65 and the tigers were willing to bite and follow to right lure. Smaller lures prevailed today. All follows and hook-ups came on chartreuse and firetiger. 3 hooked, 2 landed, several follows. Nothing big today; 29" - 34". As usual, everyone was focused on the pads and ignoring the deeper water outside of this. Fine by me, but every now and then, turn around and toss out deeper. Just sayin'....
Used only bucktails on this trip; in-line and bent arm. Just to change things up from my routine.
