After spending the weekend house sitting for some friends and having my girlfriend help house sit, we decided that before she had to go home we'd head to Padden for some afternoon/evening fishing. She hasn't been fishing in years and hasn't gotten her license yet, so it was just me fishing. Got on the lake around 3:30-4:00, had 7 or 8 bites over 4 hours but my power eggs (one chartreuse and one white with a drop of craw/anise Smelly Jelly on each egg) kept shifting position on my hook and made it impossible to set the hook; some of them were pretty good take downs. I finally pulled in my first fish around 8, and my second and last fish at 8:15. Had one more big fish on, but just as soon as I started fighting it, it jumped out of the water and spit the hook back at me. It was a huge fish, and now I suppose I've become Ahab and the fish Moby Dick. All in all, had a great time siting on the bank and spending time with the girlfriend before she had to leave. Will be back soon...
