I fished Lost Lake for the first time this year and the bite was definitely on! I started around 11 am and fished until 2pm. Kastmasters! They were going nuts over them. I caught a total of 18 rainbows, but kept five that inhaled my lure and were bleeding. The other 13 were just hooked in the mouth. I was using a quarter ounce solid gold Kastmaster most of the day, and when I lost that one (ouch! there goes 6 bucks), I switched to a Rainbow Trout color of the same weight. The sun was shining and there was hardly a ripple on the water until I got ready to leave. All fish averaged about 13 inches and did multiple acrobatics through the air while I tried landing them. I easily had another ten close to the bank, when their aerials worked and they spit the hook. Great day, fun times!
