Took a friend out jig fishing for Mackinaw from the kayaks. We launched from Indian Creek campground and after a couple miles of paddling marked a nice pile of Mack's in 180' of water. I dropped a Shimano Lucanus jig tipped with Pike Minnow meat on top of them and was immediately hit just before it hit bottom producing an 18" fish. The next two drops produced fish instantly and we were off to the races. Periodically we would drift off schools of fish and need to paddle around to find more. However, the bite was consistently good to hot most of the day I ended up landing 25+ fish and losing many more while my friend landed around a 6 fish on two stacked 1 oz glow tube jigs. Most fish were caught in 130-180' of water using our electronic to find fish and target them. However, we did catch a few fish in water as shallow as 40'.
