Springer Fishing the Columbia Gorge this weekend was fantastic! Time was spent mostly at Drano Lake trolling flashers and bait. Fish were caught on spinner, herring, and Superbaits, so having a variety of options was our approach. The water is cold and the fish are not slamming the baits very hard. Sit on your hands and really let them munch or you will loose your fish. They were not very aggressive at all. We were able to land a nice 26 lb. hen and saw a lot of 4-5 year old fish caught. Multiple hook-ups both days, great weather, and awesome clients made for a great weekend.

I still have dates available for this fishery and am starting to take bookings for 2018 season. I have a limited amount of open days, so feel free to get your seat and deposit on the books now for your chance to fish with me! I have openings for summer walleye, sturgeon, and shad too.
Finally, I will start my fall King fishing in mid August and go through October. Again, book now to save your spot because this fishery will fill fast!

took me almost an hour on the wdfw site to find anything about Bonneville Dam to The Dalles Dam area being open for salmon. Finally found a page listed as "southwest region hotline???" that had drano lake listed separately as open.... Is there an easier way to find current columbia river salmon regulation info?

Drano lake is listed separately and also as "The Little White Salmon River'. It is always listed as a Columbia tributary in most of the regulations. For reporting purposes it is usually listed as the Columbia, because the success of this fishery is based on the fish movement and counts over Bonneville Dam on the Columbia. If interested in fishing this, I have a cancellation that leaves 4 seats open for Saturday! Give me a call if interested and I will cut you a good deal!
