We gave Moses a shot on Sunday for the second time this year and managed to catch a few. We put in at 8 am on the north end and trolled around in 15-20 FOW. Boat control was a blast with the winds gusting in the morning, so glad I have my Ulterra to steer the boat for me.
We got the first walleye in about 5 minutes and then nothing for about an hour when we got the second walleye. My son caught a 20lb carp shortly after that, awesome fight. About 45 minutes later we got the 3rd walleye. Other than a few snags we didn’t get any more bites so we switched from walleye and moved to bass fishing. I threw on a silver Johnson shutter spoon and the bass tore it up. We caught and released 6 small mouth about 10-12” in size and kept two others that were just over 14”.
The meal ticket for us for the walleye was a homemade spinner in the picture, black beads with a gold smile blade on side planers. We tried slow death with and without smile blades, but they seemed to want the spinner. We headed home about noon to do yard work.
