I got to Pass lake about 0900 Sunday AM. I was with another forum member, 'Motoboat'. I am still getting used to a new Outcast Stealth Pro pontoon that I purchased recently, and my friend, 'Motoboat' was fishing from a pontoon as well. It was the nicest weather day we've had in some time, mix of clouds and sun. At first I spotted a few rising fish, but after getting on the water, did not see any more risers.
I had my sonar on, and the lake is about 20' over 95% of the lake, very flat bottom, minimal structure. I marked quite a few fish, which were all in the bottom 5-6' of the water column. The majority of these fish were marked at the far end of the lake, coming back along the highway side. Also plenty of fish marked on the opposite of the highway side, going up to that lone house.
I only picked up one fish, although it was a solid 16" fish, and very fat, rainbow. Fish hit a white streamer, running an intermediate sinking line, in the middle of the lake. Fish jumped a good 4' out of the water, and made some good runs. It was especially nice, as I was fishing a new reel with a click/pawl drag, and I let it sing a few times. Tried a few other fly combinations, but no love. My partner had a hook-up on the N. side, but it broke off.
We covered the whole lake. I saw a couple people bring in a fish, but I would not say that it was a very strong day up there. On the pullout spoke with a woman who had released 8 fish the previous day.
