Fished Banks all week, Sunday 4/30-Friday 5/5. Water temp started at 47deg and Friday was 51-52. Clarity was very good. Walleye
spawn was/is still on - thru back the girls, kept some/few boys. Pesky worm stealing perch were a nuisance, but managed to get
a few nice ones. Trolled bottom bouncers exclusively - chartreuse was the dominate color - always with a worm. Tried all different
rigs, including Macks blades, slow death hooks, colorado and indiana blades, wedding rings, etc., etc., etc., and all were equally
successful - catching was pretty slow though. Nice week at Steamboat rock state park - campfires at 84deg on Thursday night
seemed a bit ridiculous though. Maybe again about this time next month things should pick up a bit. Tried all different depths
too, teens up to 50' - caught at all levels in between, except perch, they were under 30' - the ones that did hit, regardless of
species and/or size were pretty agressive and the larger walleye really hit hard. Enjoyed the week off and a few brewskies too.
Stayed mostly around the Barker area with a few excursions north and south, wind permitting.

Great report. Was there with friends maybe 2 weeks ago and nothing. This is a good sign. Maybe next month.

Thanks for the report! I will be over there for a couple days in two weeks...going after bass but appreciate the water temps! Hoping not to run smack dab into the spawn...

"8", re- predicting the water temp - according to my SWAG (scientific wild ass'd guess) system, I take an average of the night time low temps for
the previous two weeks, add about 10 degrees to that average and it should be pretty close to what you'll find at the surface - this only seems
to work for fresh water lakes of moderate size - not the size of the great lakes, but like moses, banks, potholes, etc. - roosevelt seems to take a
little more time because of the amount of cooler, fresh water entering the lake - I'm always looking for a better system too.

I do similar calculations over here, works pretty dang good! Warming trend coming for next week, could be interesting? I always thought the bass spawned earlier on the East side but hoping not. Should be good either way. Wish I could find current pool level somewhere??

Our friends at the spokane walleye club have an access to the lake fill level - log on to their web site, click on walleye waters, then click on lake
roosevelt, scroll down about three lines and there you are - looks like for the last week or so the lake has been going up about a foot a day - there
was a good post a couple of days ago from CCTMark - the arm could be pretty tuff right now cuz of the debris being picked up as the lake rises - same
thing every year - may launch at 7 bays friday, then lincoln next week - tight lines and don't cut 'em any slack.
