Saturday, July 23, 2005. Wanting to find a quiet little lake to fish on a sunny Saturday in July can sometimes be a problem. One answer, for me, is Kitsap's little Wye Lake with it's "no internal combustion engine" rule. There will be no water skiers, jet skiers, hot rodders or others in pursuit of exiguous value to shatter the tranquility. With this in mind -- and fishing solo, I launched my small boat onto Wye Lake in the early AM. The lake was nice and flat with very little wind. Just off the launch ramp, I made my first cast and hooked a small bass about 10 inches long. Well, the action wasn't that hot all around the lake but I did manage to catch several small bass on floating Rapalas and black jigs. All in all, a nice, quiet peaceful morning on the lake.
