I went to Lake Terrell today as I see from reports they were biting. Got there around 9am or so...launch it was partly sunny and windy(Its always windy there) went to right of launch and tried shallows...using buzzbait, top water perch rapala and swim jig...fished the shallows and out deeper nothing but weeds and slime...decided to head for other side of lake on south side...very windy when I got there and rollers...so just used the buzzbait at lily pads and about third cast fish on! He came up to the boat and went straight down...so figured might be a big one...but made the mistake of stop reeling and he took that time to jump and shake the lure...he was about 15" or so...next cast one hits almost to the boat but misses it. Went closer to shore while fighting wind and nothing zip zilch...headed north down the shore and more of the same zip nothing zilch...not even a bump...tried around set of reeds and waited to drift to opening....and sure enough bam big splash but he missed it. Went closer to shore and finally got on the board a 9" on the buzzbait...tried the swim jig and top rapala nothing...not even a roll behind it...my small boat was nice and wet by this time on the floor as the rollers would splash over the top of it...so moved everything up to shelves and off the floor.

Went to North end just to see it as never made a complete loop fishing there...more same sunny/windy/white caps and rollers...

Finally made it to launch side and was to right of public fishing dock (not by launch the other one) and finally saw some fish rolling and being spooked by my buzz bait...so switched to top water perch and fish on! then hung him up on a reed/still on...but boat by this time got moved by the wind and motor was behind a log...so was trying to paddle and raise trolling motor with one hand while hanging onto the rod in the other...saw the fish 8-9" hung on reed...by time I got the motor out of its snag and paddled over he was gone. Ended up getting about 7 bites there in 20 mins finally some action but only got one more dink. In mean time had two guys and their kids paddle between me and the shore...and I wasn't that far out...(never coming here again on the weekends people like to sit right next to you or like these clowns paddle right by where you are fishing)...It's a 2000 acre lake fish somewhere else!

I should of went to Lake Cassidy...would of caught more and bigger.

James
