Couldn't wait until Saturday so I made the bonsai run up to Terrell. A few boats already there when I arrived so i looked for open water. Started on the reed islands and got the first little pounder there. Motored around the beaver hut island and nothing. Went to the outlet and nothing doing there either. Fished my way up the west shore for a ways and only managed to spook a couple in the reeds, they bailed when my bait hit. With other boats dotting the shoreline I decided to head back to the islands and within five casts of my arrival I had a 2.5 and a 5.5! Floated through here with the wind and picked up two more 1.5 - 2lbs.
I headed back towards the SW corner with the trolling motor on high casting here and there. Lost one doing this...decent. Another boat got on the outboard and motored in front of me and started fishing the area I was heading for so I fan cast for a minute and then cut across behind him. I started fishing the west side he motored past, working my way north and picked up 4 more. Swimbait fish. No size but fun.
Water temps are pushing 60 and the algae is ready to pop! I won't fish this lake this weekend but I'm glad I hit it tonight.
Shout out to O.C., nice to finally meet you! Enjoy that new 519!!!
