Got the pontoon ready to go and was at the boat launch by 7:15. The boat launch wasn't crowded at all and only waited for one person the put in before me. The water was really high and a bigger boat was a little tricky to launch, wear some kind of knee high boot so you can walk out to your boat, we learned the hard way! From there we went down to the southwest end of the lake and anchored in a little spot we found a couple of years ago that seems to hold fish. First pole was in the water at 7:30ish. We tried everything form worms, corn, spinners to power bait. The best bait we found was the pink power bait, once we switched to that we found the fish. First fish of the day came around 8:30 and was a nice little trout, the second one was the biggest fish of the day, super colorful and great fight. We watched people all around us trolling and bottom fishing, seemed like everyone was doing pretty well. Ended the day with 7 nice fish and a great way to start the season for the kids! Even got the dogs out for some fun in the sun!
