With all the construction going on at the dam,I decided to go down on the weekday hoping to get a good fishing spot. No luck, Lots of spots that has folks there, with their Sturgeon rods leaned on their trailers and not fishing. Many people act like they own those fishing spots now days. Woke up early to go fish the point where there is a post and wire line that runs under water, although there was a camper there, with 2 guys fishing the day before I went early that morning to fish.no one was awake but honestly there's plenty of shoreline fur everyone to fish. The guy woke up and walked down to the river where was. I greeted him,and he didn't reply.he just shook his head and said to me to make sure I don't take their chair. I said to him to not worry. He then asked me if there were anymore guys coming.I told him, maybe a couple more. He then said that their party of 2 has been fishing there for the past few days and got another guy coming. He did not sound happy at all but I just said that there's plenty of room to fish. If it was a tight spot I wouldn't have bothered, but there definitely room for 10+ rods! I reeled my rod in and left. I got to the car and his partner came out of their trailer. Funny thing is I know him and he's a great guy. I've fished this river my whole life and know many of The Sturgeon fisherman down there. Sad to say, this was the first incident for me. Now back to fishing, we fished the river for 2 days totaling 4 oversize, 1 keeper that my cousin caught. We did catch 3 channel cats on our Sturgeon rods.I'm always down to teach others the sport of Sturgeon fishing. If you ever see me down there, don't hesitate to come join me or my party...good luck and tight lines!
