Whew! Finally have a few minutes to catch up on some reports, been busy fishing, working and doing spring time chores. Fished last Monday for some warm water species. Got out two Fridays ago as well (4/11), but while targeting walleye only caught two bass with one being 15 plus inches. Looking to hook some bigger bass this year on the Snake, personal goal of at least 3 lbs.
Monday 4/21 we fished after work for a couple of hours and I caught my first official walleye on purpose, it was 3 lbs 2 oz and I'm not complaining. Also hooked into three smallies. I know people really like walleye, however while it was delicious it wasn't "the best fish I've ever had." I've tried catching them 5-10 times now, so it was rewarding to finally hook one. Hoping to fill the freezer with some eyes, bass and cats soon to have some white meat to go with the kokanee. With longer light there will be more time for fishing after work!
River was around 54 degrees and it is finally running a bit lower and clearer, even after the recent rains. Its a good week to get out and do some fishing down here,
Tight lines all!
