Went to Boyer park to launched the boat then went about half way to penawawa. Theres a railroad bridge and a nice pond behind it. Did some bass fishing along the way to pass the time until we figured the cats would start biting. We caught 2 nice smallies, about 1.5 to 2 pounds each. Threw a few back that were barely bigger than the tubes we were using. We started cat fishing around 7 pm. My boat is to big to go under the bridge, so I anchored out in front of it and we casted toward it. We got a few bites and a really small squaw and a tiny burbot. It wasn't until midnight that my buddy caught an 11 pound cat according to my walmart scale. Then after another hour he caught a 5 pound cat. After another 1.5 hours we called it quits with no other action. Air temp was at least 100 until the sun went down, then it cooled off nicely.

Hey thanks for the report, how far down river is the railroad bridge? I am planning my 1st trip there in a few weeks so just looking for some info about the catfishing there.

tomnordman, I would guess its between 7 and 10 miles. It takes me about 1/2 hour to get there in my pontoon at 18 mph. Again its a guess, I don't have gps, yet. If you are starting at Boyer, go down river around several bends then it straightens out. There's an island , which I have caught cats and bass and perch at, at the last bend then about 1/2 mile more and you should be there. Good luck and good fishing.
