Due to low water conditions we headed north to try shore fishing some of our favorite post spawn productive back eddies to see if we could find some luck pre-spawn. 2nd cast.... fish on! It came off before getting it to shore but we seemed to be off to a great start. Well.... several hours, multiple fishing holes, and a lot of lost jigs later we finally called it a day with zero on shore. But the weather was great (sunny and 64), the company was better (my wife played hooky from work), and is there really any such thing as a bad day fishing! We'll be back in May when the post spawn males put the feed bags on....

And in case you were wondering... 3/8 oz jigs with 5" grubs (various colors) tipped with nightcrawlers was what didn't work today! lol

Although I applaud the effort, fishing from the bank with jigs has to be a jig eating monster. Thanks for the report. Seams everybody is fishing eddies, where have I been for the last 40 years?

Been there done that, found it cheaper and just as effective using sliding sinkers and plain Ole hook and a worm.
