Northwest Fishing Reports and I chased keeper sturgeon again on the Columbia in the John day pool. With the low quota of only 105 fish for sport anglers, we are forced to fish for keepers even when the conditions are not ideal! This was the case Saturday. With recent rain and warm temperatures, the Columbia was rolling high and dirty. There was a lot of debris in the water that really screwed up where we could fish. The water temperature continues to be colder than we like for this fishery, as well. With all of this said, we didn't manage any keepers and the weather forced us off the water by early afternoon. However, as we all know, you can't catch them at home and we can't argue with 'ol Mother Nature, so we have to just grind it out and fish when we can! We will continue to fish this pool and as the water warms, the bite will turn on! When this happens the bite will turn on with it!
A cancellation has my boat open this coming Saturday, March 18th! Hanford Reach Steelhead, eater walleye, or sturgeon..you pick! Call or message me for details and last minute pricing! Ill be fishing so hop on at a good rate and learn some of these fisheries!
