Hey Buc was reading you're comments on Tonto' report on Kokanee and it sounds like you guy's are good friends and good fishing buddies, I love to fish for those big Kokanee and was wondering if you could possibly give me a heads up on a good area to start fishing?

Thanks Buc for the report.

Fort Spokane was OK to launch? Was there a week ago and it had a pretty good ice berm. Thanks

Hi Gentlemen, new to the area and would like to put some Walleyes in the boat. Launched out of 7 Bays 3 times over the last week and have not touched a Walleye. Dragging a harness in 25 to 45 feet and have not touched a fish - 3 to 5 hours per trip. From the Vancouver, WA area where I did well for Walleye on the Columbia - any helpful hints would be appreciated - Thanks.

buc - thanks for getting back to me! Got most of my Walleye on blades below the Bonneville - have tried them up here without great results. Have done okay with jigs - but most of the fish I get up here are on harnesses - not my favorite way to fish. Spoke with a couple of guys at Two Rivers today - said they got some Walleye out on Casino Flats in about 25 feet of water - didn't tell me what they were using - can you help me out - where exactly is Casino Flats ?? Sure appreciate any advise you care to give me - thanks again.

Hi All - would anyone mind telling me about the area called Casino Flats or other productive areas around the 7 Bays/F t. Spokane launch areas? Also sure would appreciate some input regarding what color and size jigs and blades you are all using. I am use to fishing an area were 1/2 to 3/4 oz. is commonly used - I get the feeling that this is a little heavy for around these waters? Anyway once again any information you care to share is greatly appreciated! MB

mlb: You may appreciate Seth Burrill's multi-part walleye fishing series on YouTube. Search for either his name or Ax Fishing Academy and walleye. Amazing amount of information and he frequently references Casino Flats.

DavidA, appreciate the tip. I guess that I will learn how to do it up here sooner or later. Had the same issue on the lower Columbia until I found a couple of guys willing to share information with me - then I started to catch fish, a lot of them. Only you and buc have gotten back to me - thanks again.

Hi All, Hey xwisconsin walleye guy - I grew up on Lake Winnebago - finally figured out how to get my five a day off Black Bird Reef:) Anyway went out today, out of 7 Bays (directly across, up river from the rock, in the area of the spring) - got two, both small, one 9" and one 10" - very lite bit, got them both in 42' coming out of 55' of water. Was using a harness, no blade. Was windy and dog gone cold. Would have stayed long, fished for an hour an a half and decided to call it quits when I couldn't feel my fingers anymore. One other boat out there - they had two when I left.

Can anyone tell me if the Spokane Arm is accessible & open to fishing. Is the launch at Porcupine open. Is Porcupine Bay iced over? Heading over to fish Sunday & Monday. Thanks for any insight.

Not sure about Porcupine but, both Ft. Spokane and 7 Bays ramps are open. My guess is that Porcupine is ice free, especially with the weather we've had over the last couple of days. Not sure how much water it takes to launch at Porcupine.
