I've been trying to get my son in law Dan out for a while and we finally got the chance to Saturday. The drive down to Seven Bays was not too slippery until you started down the hill to Seven Bays but it was well sanded so posed no problem. The ramp was in great shape and only a few chunks of broken ice floating around the launch area. Wow the word must have gotten out in a hurry because there were 7 or 8 boats already there and more arriving after us.
Seems like some days fishing are not without trials (hmm seems like life). Left the side planer mast in the garage so no side planers today, rats! Also had the float stick open in the Yamaha T8 and that has never happened. About an hour later we finally got it going; now for those fish. Hadn't been trolling 5 minutes when the downrigger set at 15' went off. Another koke fell for the custom lure of mine I call the Cyclops. Continued to troll the area and caught one rainbow on the three color lead core and Orange Kekeda but no more kokes; couldn't believe it.
Finally moved further down river and caught a couple more rainbows with the largest of the day coming off the lead core and orange Kekeda rig again.
Finished up the day fishing another spot that has produced for me and I wasn't disappointed. Caught three more rainbows before having to head for home. The same orange Kekeda and lead core rig at three colors shined again. It was a great day spent with my son in law and oh yes we got to see a herd of Big Horn sheep with the most magnificent full curl ram I have ever seen - WOW! Sorry no pic I also left the good camera home, oh boy!

Tight lines everybody, be careful out there the water is only 33.8 degrees - Alan

Wow! Leaves gear at home, rebuilds carburaters on the water and still gets 6 Rainbow and a Koke. I would have to give that a "Well Done"!

Great report Alan and nice fish too. Trials and tribulations, yep, we all have some don't we. ;-)

Good you were able to overcome adversity and put some fish in the boat. Your reported surface water temp is same as what I heard from a friend yesterday, 34° - indeed be careful with temps like that.
