Had a great weekend at Roosevelt. Did some burbot fishing at night with limited results and some great trout fishing each day. If it weren't for leaded line we would not have caught very many fish at all. Mono accounted for maybe 4 fish in two days. Kekeda perch flies with worm or corn were hot! On day 2, if it wasn't a perch "anything", the fish were not interested. Any perch pattern fly was the ticket. It didn't seem to matter whether it was a Kekeda fly or Frisky Jenny, or Leny Mayo (I think that's the name) Special, the fish hit it. Mid day when the bite died down, the perch pattern Rapala caught two fish. It was definitely a morning bite.
Trolling speed each day was 3.0 - 3.6mph, with lines back 175 - 200'
It is a great time to get out to Roosevelt but get there early for the best bite. Tight lines.
