After a 3 week road trip I was in serious need of bonding time with my Lund. With the usual suspects we headed to Keller this morning. Encountered a family of 4 raccoons that almost met their demise as they were reluctant to leave their roadkill breakfast. Started at the mouth of San Poil, marked lots of fish but after an hour of no takers we moved down lake. Picked up several small trout and Kokanee over the next 3 hours along with our only keeper Koke which was about 17-18 inches. Lost one big Koke after he went aerial. Gave Swawilla a go for an hour with 1 bite. Tried above Keller with a couple small trout. 1 final pass at the San Poil yielded a huge Koke that snapped a leader after his first jump. At that point we figured that it just was not going to be are day and headed in.

Fished pink/red/white hoochies behind several blades in 35-80 depths on downriggers. Both big Kokes were at 71 depth. Best moments were seeing 2 eagles grabbing fish out of the water. My only picture of the day got one of the Eagles going in for the catch but it did not blow up with clarity.

Despite the lack of fishing success it was was still a great day on the water with great friends.

Well you got the right attitude, why we like to fish is the humbling affect we get sometimes . Makes it all worth it when it does happen!!
