Reality check!
After two trips, in which it did not seem difficult to get two Kokanees, I fished hard for them in the morning and not a bite. Did not see a net in use by any other boats either. Ran up the San Poil and caught a bunch of small Walleye and bass. Went back out to the mouth to try the evening bite but could only find more rainbows. I don't know if the bite is dying off or just a bad day
Thats fishing.

We have been there five trips the last two weeks, catching has all but stopped for most folks we talked to. We put 12 kokes in the freezer for the last seven trips. Just curious, did you have a tribal license while fishing the San Poil? I see a lot of folks fishing up past line "A"

No tribal license required unless fishing above boundary "C" which is the 1310' line and reservation boundary. If anyone is cited for fishing below the 1310' line IN A BOAT, contact Chris Donley at WDFW Spokane. If you're chasing trout and kokanee, waters are closed to both species above boundary "B". I have fished the San Poil for years and have never seen a tribal enforcement boat (don't even know what one would look like).

Not happy to hear the kokanee bite appears to have shut down, we're heading up next week specifically for kokanee. Oh well, we'll enjoy scenery and time on the water regardless. :-)
