Brewster continues to be a challenge. The limit could be 6 and it wouldn't matter. Fish are not biting. There were approx. 80 boats trying. We put in a long day and came away with 2 fish. Some guides were still trying at 3 in the afternoon! And , yes they still had the same clients on board. Everybody struggled.
We ran the usual hootchie 10 to 18'' behind 0 and 00 dodgers in multiple colors. We tried multiple colors, brands and types of shrimp. We went through an assortment of scent as well. We tried some really unconventional stuff too. But, I won't go there. Our fish came off the downriggers. Not so much as a bump on the balls and dodgers out the back. It was a good day to be on the water. I did see one wild King C&R. And I enjoyed a good time with my friend Jerry.

Sorry the fishing was slow Andy. I was up at Baker the 10th, 11th, & 12th with my buddy David who is one of the fishiest guys I know. In 3 days we went a combined 3 for 11 including losing both ends of the only double in 3 days. Definitely tough sledding there too.

I suppose that's why we call it fishing and not catching.

Better luck on your next trip!

Hey Andy- Thanks for the report...sockeye can be a very finicky species. I have never figured them out yet, but I do know we wont catch anything unless our lines are in the water! I'm going to try your Hootch-Fly you made for me soon, I'll let ya know how it works. Also, those A-Flies worked great at Rosie this year!
Thanks,
Mav

Hey Steve, I'm glad they worked for you. Were they the red and gold?

They were the silver ones...it was sunny that day.

We fished Brewster the last 2 weekends and only have 2 sockeye to show for it. It was really tough and we tried everything, too. Depth changes, different colors, rigs, scents, etc. but all the tricks we pulled out of our hat didn't interest the fish. Maybe next year ...
