Well, tried my best today with no avail. A friend and I launched about 7am. Landed only one Kokanee today around Hansen bay. Marked fish all day long which seemed to be on schools. Used many offerings in every color. Just a tough day fishing. I've fished Hansen bay last week and limited out within first three hours. Anyone have any knowledgable idea of why they wouldn't have been biting yesterday? Thanks ahead for your help and response to my question.

Full moon - been fishing for trout 70 years this year and it never fails, they just don't bite
on a full moon.

Mgnsn,
With all due respect to Captain Dave, who seems to find what they need every day, this fishery is confounding. There are days that nothing works no matter what. There are days that my dropped line picked up fish. This year I am 2 for 09 on limits. Keep fishing and keep asking questions, eventually we will connect with 'em.

I was out fishing on Merwin yesterday and it was extremely slow there too. We had a big storm come in late yesterday afternoon. I think the falling barometer had alot to do with the fish going off the bite plus the full moon effect. Just my 2 cents. Denny

My 2 cents worth. 3 of us were out 2 days ago and only got 4 kok's and 4 bows. Marked fish in the 25 to 30' range and couldn't get them to hit. Spent a lot of time at that depth with no hits. All our fish hit at 6 to 8' on riggers. Didn't have a hit at Hanson so we moved to mouth of San Poil and got the fish. I have noticed that some times the deeper fish aren't feeding and the shallow ones are. It's hard not to go deeper when you mark them. Had a friend out yesterday, him and his son got their 4 and released 6 looking for clipped fish. They hit nothing at San Poil and moved down river and got them. Watch for them to be feeding in shallow water and don't be scared to go into 8 to 9' of water and have your riggers at 3 to 4'. Turn a lot and get your lures where the boat wasn't. Full moon doesn't help but they will feed at some point of the day. If you see them rolling stay there and keep trying they will hit eventually. Downrigger Al said something on here that's spot on. "Don't leave fish to find fish". Good luck next time.
