This report is for April 1, yes April Fool’s Day and boy did we get fooled! My fishing buddy, Clint and I arrived at Geezer beach and were fishing with three rods out by 7:30. At 7:35 or so Clint landed the first Rainbow, a beautiful 16" fish with lots of fight! It was quite a while till the next hit. Clint looked over at my backup rod and it was really bent over. He picked up the rod and fought the fish for a good fifteen minutes. We speculated what this monster could be, a record Rainbow, maybe a Walleye? A Carp, boy were we fooled! Before we left, Clint caught a twin to the first rainbow. A marvelous, fun filled day that will be in our memories forever!
Just want to mention I have a two pole endorsement. Also, according to the Colville Tribal Fish manager, a tribal license is required to fish this beach.
The rod and reel used to catch the Carp was my backup. A fifty year old Mitchell 350 on a 20 year old Browning 6'6" ultra light rod!
I apologize for the orientation of the pictures but I did not get info on a fix and decided to submit the report anyway!
