I finally waited long enough to go fishing for a burbot (age 76), so loaded up and headed for
Porcupine Bay and the #5 can - started early enough to have a long day fishing, but not so
old faithful (2003 Yamaha 75) first froze up and wouldn't pee and when it finally did was
only hitting on 2 cyl - started to load it back on the trailer when it finally burned up whatever
was stopping the plugs from working, so backed off the trailer and put the P/U away again.
Conclusion to this problem: chinese new year is monkey, scotch/irish new year is spark prugs.

Started working 34-40' water (clarity about 3-4' and temp 38.7) - first one set the hook himself
with the pole in the holder and me chewing on a bologna sammie. Next one a couple of hours
later and now it's 1:00PM - time to clean and go home.

All hits on a Yamamoto chartruese/glitter 4" grub on a 1/2oz lead head, tipped with 1/2 a juicy
crawler.

This wasn't on my bucket list, but enjoyed anyway.

Sounds like a great time after your motor coughed a few times. I had the same issue with my 9.9 not peeing, shoved a wire up the hole and she starting flowing!! I hope one day soon to make the trip over and give this lake a try for burbut and kokanee.

Hunter, don't know where you are coming from, but the word on the street here is burbot seems to be slowing down
and heading off to pursue more amorous activities. There was only one other boat burbot fishing and they left to go
chase walleye at about 11:00AM, having only picked up one fish. The bulk of the boats, 16 out of 19 that launched
at Porcupine Bay, were fishing for walleye right in the bay in 20-55 FOW - they were also picking up a few 'Bows
along the way. Good luck wherever and whenever you can get out there.
