Forgot to report last week about our fishing trip so I'm doing it now. Went on Saturday, December 12th for an all day fishing trip out at our usual spot on the shorelines near Daisy. The 4 of us arrived at the lake around 8:30 in the AM and started fishing using our usual Olive colored Garlic Powerbait. Was pretty slow all day. The water rose a couple feet since the week before and I think that played a factor in why they weren't biting. About 3 hours had passed and we hadn't even had a single bite. One thing we did notice throughout the morning was that the fish were surfacing all over the lake. At this point I decided to change things up and throw a Yellow and Red polka-dotted spoon out with a tad bit of the same Powerbait we had been using. Around the 15th cast I finally had a fish on and reeled it on to the shore. That'd be the only fish for the day. Felt good being the only one to not get skunked out of the group though! Didn't get to fish this weekend but I'm hoping the next time we go out will be a more successful trip.

Hey Lambojac, been fishin the banks of Roosevelt for quit a while now, when your fishin the bottom your fishin the bottom, doesn't matter what your using if there not down there your Sport Fishin. Take two poles, one for the bottom, one for the top to the mid-range, use steelhead type gear; adjustable slipbobber; 1/8 oz. black jig for the morning and overcast days and orange for sunny days; tip with uncooked shrimp(sm. piece). Start just when you can see(daylite) at 6', and adjusting down(2' at atime) when bite slows until you find where they are suspending up to 18'-20', You will take home fish when everybody thinks its Dead . Sharpen your hook (even if they are new) thats a long way to set the hook when Suspended, hold your pole cause they eat an spit your jig quick, keep all slack out of line for direct hook set.. Good Luck !!!
